Set Metadata will set the value of the relevant metadata tag for the Version. This is currently limited to IPTC tags, custom tags, the Version Name and the Rating. EXIF data is not supported as Aperture does not provide a way of setting this.

You can either enter a fixed value, or use text from previous Nodes in the workflow.


Example Example - you can do a find and replace within an IPTC tag by using a Text Node to get the content of the tag, another Text Node to find and replace, then the Set Metadata action to set the IPTC tag to the inherited text.

Note 1 - you must have used Get Text earlier on in the workflow when using the 'Inherited Text' option.
Note 2 - Aperture Assistant uses AppleScript to tell Aperture what to change - at no point will Aperture Assistant makes changes directly to the Aperture database.
