Action Node

Action Nodes perform the actual changes and actions in your workflow, for example exporting files, changing metadata, adding files to Keynote presentations etc.

Action > Export (Images)

The Export action can export four types of image from Aperture:

Export Version - this is the regular export using an existing image export preset.

Export Master - export the Master files, with the option of adding XMP sidecar files or embedding metadata. Note that exporting Masters is disabled for Aperture 1.5.6 due to an AppleScript bug.

Action > Post-Export, Add to Keynote Presentation

Post Export actions are performed on exported files after they are exported from Aperture.

Add to Keynote Presentation will add the exported files to a Keynote presentation, with title and body text taken from that Version's metadata.

This action will load up a Keynote presentation set up by you as a template. For each Version, a new slide will be created at the end of the slideshow, the exported Version will be added to the middle of the slide and nudged into position and the title and body text of the slide will be set according to the metadata you choose.

Action > Set Metadata

Set Metadata will set the value of the relevant metadata tag for the Version. This is currently limited to IPTC tags, custom tags, the Version Name and the Rating. EXIF data is not supported as Aperture does not provide a way of setting this.

You can either enter a fixed value, or use text from previous Nodes in the workflow.
