Defining a workflow in preferences that starts automatically might be a big help for users, who need to run the same workflow often.
Or: The possibility to add different Aperture Assistant workflows to the "edit with" menu inside aperture might be a big help for users, who need to run different workflows often.
Thank you

I want to add a 'recent workflows' item in the File menu, would that do or would you want a default workflow as well?
The editing plug-in SDK can't do most of the things that Aperture Assistant needs, but what may be possible would be an editing plug-in that allows you to pick a workflow from AA's recent workflows menu, launch Aperture Assistant and run that workflow. So you could access a list from within Aperture without first launching Aperture Assistant.
In the long run, I want to make a Dock-like floating palette for Aperture Assistant. This would then be visible when working in Aperture and show a series of buttons/icons/names for all the open workflows. Then you would simply select the images you want to work on and click the relevant workflow button/icon.

Panoramic photography + software development = lack of sleep.

Yes a 'recent workflows' item will do it better for most users, you are right. A definition of the path to the workflow.xml's outside the programs folder might help to synchronize the own settings between different computers.

It would be great to launch AA without leaving the user interface of Aperture. The idea of the plugins is to use many different programs inside Aperture intuitively.

As an Aperture lover, I want to have a clean workbench, without other Dock-like floating palettes because space is limited, especially on a Notebook screen. I would prefer your editing plug-in that allows you to pick a workflow from AA's recent workflows menu.
It won't be in the near future, but I'll definitely be looking into this as part of adding an AppleScript Dictionary to Aperture Assistant itself - this would be required for calling AA from the plug-in.
I left out the vital part - A hidden palette that appears when you move the mouse to that screen edge. As a heavy notebook user myself I wouldn't want something floating permanently over the interface.
In any case, I see this as an additional way of accessing workflows, not an either/or situation with a plug-in, so the end user can choose the most suitable method.

I've added a 'Recent Items' sub-menu in the new update to Aperture Assistant.
