Is it possible to embed XMP data on export into version? i know it is possible in aperture with the Lightbox plugin, but aperture wont export custom fields?

i use a lot of custom fields, and need to be able to get that metadata into an embedded xmp, in order to build a searchable online gallery. i would just use text files, but the gallery will only look for XMP.

is there a better way?
